With just a few days until 2019, it's pretty much all hands on deck at Rivers Casino as the staff gets ready for a big New Year’s Eve party.
The day will begin with 12 hours of entertainment at Van Slyck's including bands and DJs.
“It’s a big night here in the casino,' said Robert Christopher, marketing director for the casino. 'It’s a big night for everybody in the community.”
There will also be a VIP dinner and a show at the event center.
Planning for the New Year's Eve celebration started months ago and now crews are putting on the final touches.

“Making sure we have all the lights and staging, and all that stuff ready, and just making sure we all have our ducks in a row,” Christopher said.
Ernest Brown, the casino’s director of food and beverage, is behind all the food for the celebration.
On Friday, his staff was preparing the filet and shrimp for their New Year's Eve dish. Brown said it takes about a week to get everything ready.

“We bring all the meats in. We hand butcher everything, prepare the shrimp,' Brown said.
